I am 81 years old and in good health except for scoliosis, a mild case of essential tremor, mild osteoporosis, and knee problems (aches, buckling). Over the last 5 weeks, I have had to quit most activities including water aerobics and shopping due to pain and inflammation in both knees. Additionally, all my fingers except the baby fingers on each hand have been increasingly hurting/aching and 'going out of joint' more frequently over the past 4 months. I don't know if my knee issues and worsening hand problems are related and I have not taken anything other than glucosamine and chondroitin. What kind of doctor should I see and what should I do about my hand and knee issues?
