I have concerns about PCOS and the treatment options recommended by my family doctor, which currently only includes micronor (a progestin-only pill). I had a bad experience with Lo Loestrin Fe in the past and am hesitant to try another contraceptive pill. I am also experiencing weight gain and lower left abdomen pain around ovulation. I would like to know why my doctor only recommended the pill and not other treatments like Metformin or Ozempic, and if there are alternative treatments I can discuss with my doctor while I wait for referrals to an endocrinologist and gynecologist.
