I am almost 46 years old and have always had heavy periods lasting nearly 2 weeks with clots and cramps, leading to low iron levels. My last two periods were normal, lasting 7 days without flooding or clots. However, I finished my last period two weeks ago and am now bleeding again, but it's old, brownish blood with no smell, pain, or cramps. This has never happened before. I also have an underactive thyroid and borderline abnormal cervical cells from my smear tests. What could be causing this bleeding, and what tests should I consider?

I have a moderate to large hiatal hernia noted in the inferior aspect of the mid mediastinum, vascular calcification of the abdominal aorta and its iliac branches, and scoliosis. Is the hiatal hernia and vascular calcification something to worry about, and are they related to the scoliosis? Additionally, does swimming help in halting the progression of scoliosis?

I have extreme pain in my rectum when I have a bowel movement. It takes several minutes of this pain and enemas before anything will pass. When it finally passes, the feces does not appear to be abnormal (hard, soft, or liquid). I have taken laxatives, stool softeners, and phosphate liquid, but the results are the same. What can I do?

My boyfriend vomits almost every night, around 2 am, and has lots of headaches. He has been experiencing this for about ten months, has had checks at the doctor but no real tests yet, and is under a lot of stress. The headaches are mostly during the day, and the vomiting occurs a few hours after he goes to bed. Could this be a gallbladder problem?
