I am attracting fleas everywhere I go. I live in Los Angeles and spent the weekend in San Francisco. While watching a football game at a stadium, I noticed insect pupae everywhere. I had to leave the game. Coming home after two rounds of chemical spraying with two different companies, my house still has fleas because I am bringing them in. I have sciatica and take gabapentin. My nerves flare up every time I get a bite, and I think that attracts the bugs as well as the fact that I have a lot of histamine in me. What to do? I am getting worried. I am 70 years old. Sitting at my computer now. Feel bites constantly. Covered and have sprayed repellent so they don't always hit their mark but it hurts. Took several blood thinning supplements (flaxseed oil, fish oil, glucosamine/chrondrotin). The doctor I spoke with gave me a very practical idea which was to use thyme, basil, and/or rosemary in my diet. I made a pasta sauce with all three. No sign of insects in the kitchen! I was wondering what kind of doctor I should see. I have a degenerating spine (1/2 lumbar). The compression has resulted in Sciatica on my left side, particularly in my leg. I also feel pins and needles and get cramps every so often. The weird thing is that when I get a bite from a flea which happens daily wherever I am, the front of my left leg starts to hurt. It's a little darker in color than my right leg. I need to see someone who is an entomologist/dermatologist. Is there such a specialty?
