I'm not sure if I'm having asthma or not. I have GERD and constantly have a bitter taste in my mouth. I'm taking omeprazole but still get acid reflux. Recently, I've been having shortness of breath, which started gradually about two months ago but has worsened this week. I also have chest pain, frequent coughing to clear my throat, and the shortness of breath is worse at night. I went to the emergency room, and they said my chest x-ray didn't show anything abnormal.
