I have type 2 diabetes and recently quit smoking six weeks ago. I have noticed a change in taste, starting about two weeks ago, which feels metallic like blood and then sweet. I am on medications including Jaunvia, losartan, amaryl, protonix, simvastatin, and 81 mg of aspirin. I drink 74 oz of water a day and have a dry mouth. My highest blood sugar level was 264. Could this taste change be related to quitting smoking or my medications, and should I be concerned about ketosis?
