I got a rapid HIV test 10 weeks after my last unprotected vaginal sex, which came back negative. I've been experiencing symptoms like strep throat, fever, night sweats, and white plaques on my tongue, which I initially thought were HIV symptoms. I'm worried and want to know if I can trust the 10-week rapid HIV test (3rd generation) result, especially since I've been sick again. I also did a 4th generation lab test, but the results are not yet available. Should I trust the 10-week test result, and if my symptoms are related to acute HIV infection, wouldn't the test have picked it up?
