I had an unprotected encounter with an old friend 10 weeks ago. Four weeks later, I noticed a suspicious bump that looked like a pimple and went for an exam. The doctor said it was not of concern and did not swab it for a culture. I asked about blood tests for HSV, but the doctor said they were too inaccurate, so I ordered them independently. My IGG came back negative, and IGM was 1.17, which could be a false negative. My partner has had no symptoms, and my son was recently diagnosed with mononucleosis. I have had mono before and was told it was EBV. Should I be worried about my son, or could my test have been false due to EBV? My son's doctor said I could have been having another instance of EBV/mono. I have had issues with it reoccurring. What do you advise?

I am 18 weeks pregnant with twins and have a holiday booked involving two long flights. I will be 20 weeks pregnant on the outbound flight and almost 24 weeks on the return. My doctor has approved the trip, but I am concerned about potential risks to the pregnancy, especially given my history of cervical surgeries and the fact that I am carrying twins. Should I be worried about blood clots, radiation, or jet lag affecting my pregnancy?

I am 46 years old, active, and eating healthily. I have a family history of heart disease, with my mother having a heart attack at 41 and my brother having one at 38. I see a cardiologist who suggests statins to keep my LDL below 100, but my GP is less inclined to prescribe them. My last cholesterol numbers were TC 213, LDL 137, HDL 55, TRI 104. I am concerned about the astronomical costs of healthcare and wonder if I really need these drugs for the rest of my life, or if my doctors are playing it safe. Additionally, I have plaque buildup in my carotids and work 12-hour night shifts. What is your opinion on whether I should take statins, and how much weight loss could potentially impact my cholesterol levels?

I have had gout at the base of my left foot's big toe for almost a week and have been taking anti-inflammatories for it. It's not too bad in the morning but gets much worse in the afternoon. Any advice?

The last referrals you sent me were utterly useless. My specific request was for physicians who administer Botox to reduce TMJ pain. Then you advised me to call each to see if they did that. Ridiculous!!! I called them anyway and they do not. I refuse to pay for your "Advice".
