I had vigorous sex last week after not having sex for three months. The inside of my vagina seemed to have friction burn or something, which went away after a week. This morning, I woke up with a red spot that is a little itchy. I have a history of HSV-2. What could this red spot be, and should I be concerned about it triggering an outbreak? Additionally, I am considering daily suppressive therapy with Valtrex. Would this be safe for my kidneys, and could it make my body dependent on the medication if I suddenly stopped?
