I have a question regarding isolated GGT elevation in a blood test. My GGT was at 128, while the upper limit for normal in this test was 88. All other liver results came back normal. I am 34 years old, 5'6" and 180 lbs, active, with a fairly good diet, and I drink alcohol but stopped two weeks prior to the test. I have high cholesterol since I was young, which runs in my family. What could be the cause of the elevated GGT, and should I be concerned?

My mother-in-law had colorectal cancer 3 years ago, underwent open surgery to remove the tumor, and received chemotherapy. A year later, another tumor was found in her colon, requiring another open surgery and subsequent chemotherapy. Recently, a new tumor was found in her pelvic area, and her doctor suggested either HIPEC or another open surgery. Given that this is her third surgery in 3 years, what are the risks and benefits of these options, considering the presence of surgical adhesions?
