I have an infected ingrown hair that is very painful, large, swollen, and purple. It first appeared on Sunday. I've used heat and cold compresses and applied antibiotic ointment. I haven't seen a dermatologist about this. What should I do?

If I had chicken pox as a child, would the antibodies developed for it cause me to test positive for HSV 1 or 2? I recently got an STD panel done and tested positive for HSV 1, which is odd because I’ve never had an outbreak once. How accurate are blood tests for HSV, and can there be false positives? Can I have unprotected sex with my lifetime partner if I have HSV1, and is there any risk even in oral sex with no symptoms? Does HSV1 show up inside the mouth or outside, and what is a strong reading for HSV 1 IgG antibodies?

I'm taking Simvastatin and experiencing diarrhea. My blood pressure is still high, and I've been taking it for two weeks. I recently lost my job and haven't seen a doctor. A few months ago, I thought I had appendicitis, but a scan showed my appendix was slightly enlarged. What should I do about the diarrhea and high blood pressure?

I live in Arkansas and have been taking pain medication for 10 years. My doctor retired, and I'm having trouble finding a new doctor who will prescribe the same amount of medication. I was taking 4 oxycodone 15mg per day, which was effective, but now I'm being cut back and can't make it through the month without running out. I have a history of a bulging disk in my back, a bad ulcer in my throat, and bipolar disorder. What should I do?

I am diabetic and my toes feel a bit numb, but I can still feel cold, hot, and pressure. I have a lot of anxiety and think this might be causing my symptoms. What does pins and needles feel like, and could this be neuropathy or just anxiety?

A floor in an old house gave way under one leg, causing a hard bang to the elbow and a 3/4" deep cut. The cut was butterflyed and healed well, but X-rays showed no issues. Now, five days later, the arm is badly swollen from the elbow down to the hand, with significant redness and heat. Antibiotics were taken as directed, but the condition is not improving. When were the antibiotics prescribed, and have you seen a doctor about the redness?
