I have an underactive thyroid and have been taking 150mg of medication daily for 15 years. Despite a healthy diet, I have been steadily gaining weight and find it difficult to lose weight. What could be causing this, and is my medication dose considered low or high? My diet typically includes fiber cereal for breakfast, soup or salad for lunch, and a hot meal for dinner. I also exercise regularly with my dog.

I have a bulging disk that presses against a nerve, causing constant pain in my right leg. I have trouble driving and sleeping due to the pain. I am currently taking Hydrocodone, but I requested a longer-lasting pain medication, which my doctor prescribed as Morphine. However, I got sick from the Morphine and went back to Hydrocodone. I asked my doctor to change my medication, but he refused and did not answer my emails. I am concerned about the safety of going cold turkey and feel betrayed by my doctor. What other options or medications could help manage my chronic pain?
