I have been bulimic on and off for 6 and a half years. Two weeks ago I stopped cold turkey. I've had anxiety attacks leading to ER visits three times, with symptoms like pins and needles sensations and feeling like fainting. Each time, blood tests and EKGs were normal, as was a chest x-ray. I have a recurring dull ache in the left side of my chest that transfers to my arm and back. I'm going to a cardiologist for further evaluation. My near constant anxiety over this has me frightened. Are my EKGs and chest x-ray enough to exclude me from immediate danger? For bulimic patients, is an EKG typically enough to ensure no arrhythmia, or are there usually further tests beyond blood samples? Do you have any tips to reduce anxiety until my cardiologist appointment?
