I have been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and GERD, and have been on Pantoprazole (Protonix) for 9 years. Despite lifestyle changes, I still experience symptoms, and I'm concerned about the long-term effects of the medication, particularly liver damage. My latest blood tests show BUN at 24 mg/dL, Creatinine at 1.15 mg/dL, and eGFR below 60 ml/min/1.73 m2. Should I be concerned about my liver, and what other treatment options should I discuss with my doctor for the hiatal hernia and GERD?

My wife was prescribed Mounjaro for weight loss and took the maximum dose of 15 mg. She is experiencing severe nausea and vomiting about 14 hours after the injection. Should I take her to the hospital, and do you know how long these symptoms will last?

I have COPD and am scheduled for a chemical stress test. Is that the preferred test or is the treadmill test preferred? I am relatively fit, except for getting short of breath easily. I am on Metoprolol for an irregular heartbeat and high blood pressure, and I experience shortness of breath with minimal exercise. I am also on Stiolto once a day and Ventolin as needed. Additionally, I have been experiencing indigestion-like symptoms, including extremely painful stabbing pain in my sternum area front and back.

Are there other medications besides the inhalers Advair and Ventolin that are more effective for asthma, and should I consider switching if my symptoms haven’t progressively worsened over the past five years?
