I have been experiencing a sore throat for a few days, which has worsened due to a cold. I have been coughing a lot and having trouble speaking regularly. The throat feels full and dry. I have had a cough for a week that is not improving, despite taking codeine phosphate 5mg every 4 hours as prescribed. I am coughing almost constantly, experiencing sore chest muscles, headaches, and bringing up green phlegm. My COVID-19 test is negative, and I have no shortness of breath or chest pain. I am a 35-year-old male with an infected left ear. The ENT doctor prescribed eardrops to be used three times a day for a week. After using the drops, I feel fluish, my nose is stuffy, and I have to clear my throat frequently. Can these symptoms be due to the medication, and should I stop using it?

I was diagnosed with COVID on September 27th. Most symptoms have eased, but I started coughing on the 29th and had a coughing fit all night. The cough is consistent, productive with small amounts of beige-colored mucus, and accompanied by a tight chest and heavy feeling. I'm using Advair, Salbutamol, Lodalis, Rabeprazole, Dicetol, Mesavant, Tylenol Extra Strength, Vicks, Cepacol lozenges, and hot beverages. I also have a history of pneumonia in 2018, asthma, and colitis/Crohn’s. Is the coughing constant throughout the day, and is it a dry cough or a wet cough? Are there any medications I should try for the coughing, and do I need a prescription for them?
