I have been experiencing severe early morning wrist and hand pain for approximately 6 months. The pain is not burning but is severe and inflamed, and occasionally awakens me. There is also some numbness in the thumbs. I have a history of neck fused disc problems, right shoulder joint issues needing reverse replacement, left shoulder moderate arthritis, and a history of excessive lifting as a retired nurse. I also had a horrific fall three years ago resulting in a broken nose, lacerations, front teeth repair, and a concussion, which affected my memory and mind. Shortly after, I developed Guttate psoriasis, and my last physical labs showed low T-SHIRT, T-3T4, and elevated HlAC, which my doctor treated with glucophage 500mg QD, and thyroid levels are now normal. My doctor suspects Hashimoto’s syndrome. I have also had depression with anxiety for over 35 years. What could be causing this pain, and what tests or treatments should I consider?
