Hello, I have a problem with my left index finger. Eight years ago, it was nearly amputated after an accident involving a power saw. The saw went through the third bone from the tip, which had to be screwed back on. One of the screws has come loose and will be removed. There is considerable keloid scarring, giving the finger a boomerang shape, and the feeling has never returned. The joint is now in terrible condition and is arthritic, although there is no pain. Is it feasible or possible for me to have an artificial joint placed in the finger? What are the risks involved, such as the possibility of the finger being lost during the operation? I am a 63-year-old male and a Veterans Affairs gold card holder, willing to pay for the operation if necessary.

I've also been told I need a colostomy due to severe colon involvement. How can I manage my pain and find effective treatment?

Since then, I've been experiencing raging hot flashes and have gained about 10 pounds, which I never had a problem with before. Why did these symptoms start after I began the medication, especially the weight gain?
