What are the causes of cracks in the front half of my tongue?

I am a 65-year-old female in good general health, but I have had a severe outbreak of shingles since just after Thanksgiving. I am taking the maximum dose of neurontin, but still experience intense pain and itching. I am exhausted, depressed, and physically weary, with significant scarring. What else can be done to manage this condition? Would a neurologist be able to help, and are there any other treatments or remedies I can consider?

I take 600mg Gabapentin TID, 0.5mg Clonazepam BID @8a/2p, 20mg Inderal TID @ 8a, 2p, 10pm, and have PRN Stadol NS for migraine usage. I took my 2pm meds and it is now almost 5pm with a severe migraine. Is it safe to take my Nasal Spray without depressing my CNS to a dangerous level?

I get severe sun blisters on my bottom lip, especially when surfing, about twice a year. I need a product that can block the sun completely, is waterproof, and has a high concentration of zinc oxide to prevent these blisters. Is there such a product, and can it also help with the healing process of existing blisters?
