I have intermittent shooting pains going up one side of my head that seem to originate from a gland in the back of my neck. I have no other symptoms and just started experiencing this 2 days ago. The last time this happened, I got the flu. I took Excedrine Migraine and Tamiflu, which helped temporarily. My roommate has Z-Pak for bronchitis, so I might have caught something, but I'm not coughing. My blood pressure is normal, and I have no history of migraines. I am a 65-year-old woman. My throat also hurts on the side. What could be causing this, and what should I do?

When I nod my head no and shake it really hard, I get a piercing pain in the top of my head, always in the same spot. Not always when I shake it but sometimes. What is this?

My 83-year-old mother slipped from her bed to the floor, hitting her forehead. She now has a small knot on her forehead, and I've applied ice to reduce the bump. Her blood pressure was initially elevated but has normalized, and she remembers the incident and can talk and move around okay. She mentioned a slight tingle in her right hand, which has since disappeared. Should I take her to the hospital?

I went to my doctor last Thursday with severe lower back pain. He prescribed Panadine Forte and advised rest. Today, I still have a lot of back pain, which is constant, aching and stabbing, with possible increased fatigue. I also feel the pain radiating down my right leg today, though it wasn't before. My doctor ruled out kidney stones with a urine test. What could be causing this pain, and what can I do to alleviate it?

Would I be missing any nutrients and/or vitamins needed for my workouts if I had a vegan diet (dairy free)?

I was told to stop taking Spironolactone after 4 years of daily 50mg dose. I'm experiencing terrible nausea, which comes and goes. My appetite is good, but I have bloating and difficulty going to the bathroom. I'm 61 years old, taking lots of supplements but nothing new for the nausea. I have a history of liver damage from alcohol consumption over 4 years ago. What could be causing the nausea and what can I do to alleviate it?
