I have never had allergies, but last night I woke up at 3 a.m. with a badly swollen right half of my tongue and a swollen gland under my chin on the right side. I had taken a 12-hour Mucinex pill for cough and chest congestion the previous afternoon. All is well now. What could have caused this and what should I do?
