I am having extreme anxiety due to finding red specks in the toilet bowl at work, which I assume to be blood. I touched one with a piece of toilet paper and had a bleeding skin pull on my finger around the nail. I am concerned about the risk of Hepatitis B and C infection, especially since I have had two out of three Hep B shots and the last one is due in June. What is the risk of infection from such a contact, and how much blood is required for transmission? Additionally, how soon does an open wound turn into a healing wound, and does tap water affect the Hep B and C virus?
