Hello. I am a 67-year-old woman with type 1 diabetes, which I have had for 37 years. I have had two sessions of laser treatment for diabetic retinopathy in the last few months. Today, I suddenly experienced black swirls and dots in my left eye, the eye that has been lasered. That was over 2 hours ago, and it is starting to clear, but there is still a little left. I also have been found to have pressure in both eyes for which I am being treated with drops. I feel that I have had a small bleed perhaps. I do not see my ophthalmologist again until January of next year. As appointments are difficult to get, would it be okay to wait until January and mention it then, or should I try to seek an earlier appointment?
