I'm 18 years old and have been experiencing anxiety, breathing issues, and digestive problems such as constipation and feeling full despite eating very little. I'm taking escitalopram for anxiety and simethicone for gas relief, but I'm concerned about side effects and whether these medications are causing my constipation. How can I address these issues and know if my symptoms are due to anxiety or something more serious like brain damage?

I had my period exactly one week ago and I woke up bleeding with a fever and headache. I only had the headache right before I woke up to the bleeding. The pain is in my whole head, the top and front. My almost 87-year-old mother has cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) and other findings on her MRI. We've seen noticeable changes in her, including memory issues, balance problems, incontinence, and language difficulties that occur daily to weekly. She has also had two episodes of word salad and one episode of not being able to speak. Her neurologist refused to discuss her symptoms or treatment options with me, despite having a HIPAA form on file. I need to understand if her SVD is progressive and leading to vascular dementia, and how to help and protect her.
