I made an appointment with a GI due to stomach pain and burning. After various tests, including a CT Angiogram that found a 1/2 inch nodule in my lung, the GI recommended surgery. I am concerned and have symptoms of burning and shortness of breath. Why would they suggest surgery based on the CT findings?

How long does it take for Protonix to work? I've been taking it for one week and it hasn't helped with severe stomach acid causing diarrhea, inability to eat, and sleep issues. Can I take 40 mg of Protonix twice a day, and is it okay to add another medication like Zantac or Rantidine? Additionally, I have a history of cardiac ablation and hypertension.

I am on spironolactone 50mg twice daily for hormonal acne and was prescribed nitrofurantoin 100mg twice daily for a UTI. I am concerned about a potential interaction between these medications. Should I continue taking both at their current dosages, or should I stop the spironolactone while finishing the course of antibiotics?
