I recently discovered a tampon that was left in after swimming on Sunday. After having sex, I noticed an unusual odor. I am 37 years old, had my last pap test and pelvic exam in May with no irregular results. I used metronidazole gel from my medicine supply. Should I be worried about toxic shock syndrome (TSS)? Should I see my doctor before going on a cruise in two days? Should I refrain from sex or use any products like Vagisil?
