I started Metformin today and have experienced insomnia, anxiety, jitteriness, mild nausea, headache, reflux, and sticky stools. I am concerned about acidosis and whether these are common side effects. Should I stop taking Metformin, and how long does it take to develop acidosis? Is it safe to take Valium and bicarbonate soda with water for these symptoms?

I have been running a fever for the last couple of days and experiencing chills. My job requires a doctor's note for taking days off. Besides the fever and chills, do you also have a cough, shortness of breath, sinus congestion, headaches, sore throat, or any other symptoms? Do you have any pre-existing respiratory conditions, have you taken a COVID test, or are you allergic to any medications?

I experienced a sudden pain in my right groin area that almost caused me to fall. The pain feels like a pull that hurts every time I take a step. The discomfort started about a week ago but was mild and could walk without pain. At night, if I suddenly bend my leg, the discomfort is more intense. The pain is less if I sit but even to drive, the discomfort is there. Yesterday it was sharp but last night it was dull. I'm 69, very active, and take metformin, trulicity, two blood pressure meds, and Tylenol for pain relief. I'm a cancer survivor of ovarian and thyroid and take thyroid medication. What could be causing this pain and what should I do?

I am a 51-year-old female experiencing bloating in my stomach that causes breathing issues and frequent burping. I have been dealing with gas issues for years, and certain foods like vegetables and bread seem to exacerbate the problem. I also feel like I need to release a large amount of gas but can't. What could be causing this and what can I do to alleviate the symptoms?

I have been experiencing constant, stabbing stomach pain for the past 4 months, which has led to weight loss and difficulty eating as I used to. I am 59 years old and currently taking Losartan for blood pressure, and Sumvastatin, Omeprazole, Famotidine, Sucralfate, and Pantoprazole. I visited a gastroenterologist who performed an upper GI test but found nothing. My stomach remains very irritated, uncomfortable, and painful. What could be causing this and what can I do to alleviate the symptoms?
