I was diagnosed with a compromised bone marrow system twelve years ago. The initial diagnosis, MDS, was incorrect, never righted, but Drs. agree it's not MDS. Several years ago I was put on Topamax 100mg for migraines and as a mood leveler. My platelet count had always been low normal, but recently took a downward dip, and I began to experience minor bruising on lower arms and below knees. At the same time my wife died and I experienced several life changing events (I'm 72) at once. My dr. increased my topamax to 150 mg./ day. Is the topamax likely to increase the bruising?
