In New Jersey, should a patient be entitled to a two-year contact lens prescription if there is no medical reason suggesting otherwise, despite the doctor's office policy of issuing one-year prescriptions?

Hi, I have two parents in a rest home that I have not been able to visit now that we are in Level 2 as I keep getting a very mild sore throat on and off over the past week. I was unable to attend work for the same reason and was asked to get Covid tested which I did. The results were negative. Over the past week I have had only 3 occasions of having this very mild throat issue, this morning, Thurs night and last Sunday night. How long do I keep having to stay home in my bubble when it comes and goes like this? I work in Early Childhood so attending work is also out. Thanks for any guidance you can give me.

I have a throbbing light pain in my left arm that radiates from my left shoulder halfway down my arm. It's a pulsating kind of throb and has been going on for a few hours. I took 2 nitros pills, but they had no effect. I have a history of a stint 3 years ago, my cholesterol is 200, and I had one heart attack. My blood work is great, and my blood pressure is great without medication. I have no tightness or heaviness in the chest, and the pain is not in my neck or jaw. I also have a history of cervical problems. What could be causing this pain and what should I do?

Blood work is normal. How long will a person start getting bouts of diarrhea if they had carcinoid? I have no diarrhea, no stomach pain, no wheezing, but have been experiencing flushing for 4 weeks now. A dermatologist thinks it's rosacea. I've had two colonoscopies and an endoscopy, and nothing was found except for 5 non-cancerous polyps. I'm redoing my Hiaa this weekend. Should I be worried, Dr. Basu?

I have sharp pains in my foot/ankle frequently, ranging from mild to severe, and it has worsened over the last couple of years. The pain comes and goes, and I'm only managing it with over-the-counter (OTC) medications. I also stand for long periods daily due to my job, which involves lifting weights periodically. What could be causing these symptoms, and what investigations or treatments should I consider?

My elderly mother, aged 76, had a fall on 2-20-21, landing on her right side over the bathtub ledge. She experienced symptoms such as rib contusion, low back pain, tremor, arm weakness, and lowered extremity after the fall. Prior to this, she had stage 3 bladder prolapse and pessary insertion, which reduced her mobility. She now has severe incapacitation, almost total limpness in her hands, and muscle spasms. Her potassium levels have been low multiple times, and she has congestive heart failure. Could the fall have caused nerve trauma or exacerbated her existing conditions? What can be done to improve her condition, and is there hope for her to regain some hand use?
