I have had a dry cough for 6 weeks. I've been to my allergist and the ER, and have been given medications from both visits, but they don't seem to be working. No other symptoms besides the dry cough. My nephew, who was still coughing from a cold, visited a few weeks ago. The ER did a chest X-ray which showed clear lungs, and my allergist diagnosed me with allergy-induced asthma after a pulmonary function test. What additional treatment options should I consider for my persistent cough?
