My 81-year-old father, who is otherwise healthy, recently traveled to India and experienced significant exertion, including going up and down stairs. Upon returning, he had swollen feet and ankles, with the left foot being more swollen than the right. The swelling reduced over time, but the left foot remains mildly swollen. He reports no pain, but I am concerned about the possibility of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). What could be causing the swelling in his left foot, and should he be tested for DVT?
