My husband has a half-inch scab on his lower leg from an old wound. After his shower today, there is a distinct red line several inches from the scab. He is 88 years old and has various types of arthritis. Should we see urgent care now or our regular family medicine tomorrow? In the meantime, should we keep the wound clean and covered?

I have multiple myeloma and my platelet count is at 12. I had an infusion to raise them to 36. Is there anything I can do to raise them naturally? My consultant has taken me off Revlimid and part of my chemo, and I don't think it's the Revs that are the problem. I'm really upset.
