My husband has a patchy area under his eye that is burning, about the size of a half-dollar, with flaky places and tiny pus-filled blister-like spots. He used coconut oil, which made it worse, and now it burns constantly. We've tried an antiseptic wash with a cotton ball, which helped some. He thinks it might be psoriasis or shingles. Is there anything over the counter he can use, as he refuses to go to the doctor?

How often should someone like myself, who takes blood pressure medication and is overweight, check cholesterol and vitamin D levels? My cholesterol was 191 with HDL 47 and LDL 124 a year ago. My vitamin D level was 19 but has increased to 40 after taking 1000 IU of D3. Should these levels be checked annually, and if so, how often?
