My husband is sick with flu and I'm wondering if he may need an antibiotic. He has had flu before, is stable but not getting better, and is a diabetic. He has a sore throat, aching all over, tightness in throat, cough, and fever on and off. He also has a puffer he is taking. What do you recommend?

I’m sick. My symptoms include a sore throat, dry cough, sneezing, and severe ear pain. I've had the cough for the last 4 days, it's constant throughout the day, and I'm currently using Benylin Night All-in-One Plus Mucus Phlegm. I don't have a primary doctor, and I'm too weak to drive. My mother is also sick, and the rest of my family is busy. All urgent care centers are booked for the day. What can be done to help?

I've been coughing up thick mucous for the past few weeks, the size of a large half dollar and almost spherical. This morning, my partner said I stopped breathing twice during the night. The coughing is usually just in the morning, but yesterday after coming down three flights of stairs late in the afternoon, I had two globs come up. I'm 57 years old, take high blood pressure meds, and some allergy meds when needed. I don't smoke, but have alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency and bronchiectasis. I also have a right nostril that is scarred from a bike accident and have been using a Hale nasal device to help breathing at night. What should I do about the coughing and potential breathing issues?

I have had an on and off ear infection for months. I feel dizzy at times and the side of my head that the ear infection is on feels swollen and sore. The swelling has been getting worse over time, and the only tender area is my ear canal. I have experienced a small amount of hearing loss in the affected ear. I have had a previous surgery for a deviation in my Septom. What could be causing these symptoms and what treatment do you recommend?

I have had psoriasis for over 30 years, and it only cleared up during chemotherapy. I am 61 years old, use Betnovate cream on usual areas, and take Nexium for reflux. I had tongue cancer but have been clear for 12 months. What treatment options are available for my psoriasis, including Chinese herbal medicine?
