I have a really irritating, scratchy throat that causes me to cough, mostly when I'm talking. The cough is dry, and I sometimes experience chest pain or headaches from coughing too hard. I'm using over-the-counter medications like NyQuil, Halls, and vapor rub. I'm 34 years old and have no other symptoms like a stuffy nose, headache, or shortness of breath. I had COVID-19 in 2021 but tested negative recently. What could be causing this and what can I do to alleviate it?
