My son, aged 7, has persistent swollen tonsils, trouble swallowing, and constant aching throat pain with bursts of stinging, accompanied by strong bad breath. He has no fever, chills, cough, or tender swollen glands around his neck, but his tonsil has a white, webbing appearance with holes in the tissue. He has been struggling to gain or keep weight and has tested negative for COVID-19. What could be causing these symptoms and what should be done?
