My wife has stage 3 multiple myeloma and total kidney failure. The cancer is in remission, but her kidneys are covered with protein caused by the cancer, and she has been on dialysis for 18 months. Her creatinine levels have been around 4.7-5.8 since diagnosed in January 2008. What can she do to clean up the proteins that are keeping her creatinine so high, and is there any way to get her off dialysis?

I am an asthma patient recently hospitalized for over a week, where I was on 500 mg of IV steroids to get my asthma under control. Now at home, 1 1/2 weeks after my hospital stay, I am on 80 mg of Prednisone, along with Advair, Singulair, and Astelin, my regular maintenance drugs. My asthma symptoms have worsened again. I started on Methotrexate treatment before my hospital stay, but don't seem to have any results from it yet. I will be tested to see if I qualify for the Zolar treatment. I have had asthma all my life, but only moderately. I vigorously play various aerobic type sports when I am healthy. Any ideas on how to get out of this funk? Also, please describe a "bronchial toilet."

I had neck surgery today and am having trouble urinating this evening. It's difficult to get a trickle. Would that be due to the surgery?

I have been experiencing throbbing pain on the left side of my face/head for over two weeks, causing sleeplessness and severe pain. I have tried antibiotics, painkillers, migraine tablets, calming tablets, etc., but the pain persists. I have been diagnosed with sinusitis and trigeminal neuralgia, and have had CT scans and an OCG which show signs of sinusitis and healthy teeth. The pain is located in the left cheek, top and bottom left gums, and near the left temple. What can be done to alleviate this pain?

I am 31 years old and one year ago I had a miscarriage of what they thought were twins. In the last 9 months, my husband and I have been trying to have another child with no luck. I have not had a period since May and have taken 4 negative pregnancy tests. Could I be pregnant? Do I need to be concerned with this as it has been at least 13 years that I have missed a period and not been pregnant?

I have a lot of bloating in my stomach, making it look like I'm 9 months pregnant. My weight has changed frequently, and it's all in my stomach, which is very hard. I have a lot of nausea, vomiting, frequent urination, lower back pain, pelvic pressure, painful intercourse, and irregular periods. I also experience lightheadedness and dizziness. I have a history of panic disorder, had my gallbladder removed, and have a family history of cervical cancer. What could be causing these symptoms?
