I have been experiencing a dull ache/pain in my right armpit and ribs for about one month, sometimes extending to my right shoulder blade. The pain is sometimes pressure-like or hot, and it occurs especially when I sit and hunch over. My bloodwork came back normal except for slightly high cholesterol, and my chest x-rays were clear. This is the third time I have had this type of 'flare-up' since last August, each time following a stressful period or illness. My doctor insists it is costochondritis, but I am not fully convinced.
