In the past few months, I've been awakened by what I call a 'power failure'. All of a sudden, I hear a loud boom, go from darkness to wide awake, and get the sensation that the power has gone off. We sleep with fans on, and what awakens me is the extreme silence, darkness, and the sense that all the lights/power have gone off. It's very disturbing. Once I am awake and get my 'bearings', I realize that the fans are indeed still on and everything is fine. It's just this extreme sense of being in a building and having the power fail. The loss of sound and extreme darkness are very weird. What could be causing this and what should I do?

For the past 2 or 3 weeks, I have been having 8 - 10 bowel movements a day with lots of lower intestine cramping and very loose stools. I take no medications, only vitamins and probiotics. The issue has become debilitating, with frequent urges to have a bowel movement that often result in nothing. When I do have a bowel movement, it is very loose and in small quantities. I sometimes experience severe contractions in my colon or intestines while sitting on the toilet. I also had a period of no bowel movements followed by chills and a high fever, and now the issue has returned. Should I see a gastroenterologist, proctologist, or another specialist?

I had a blood test for an underactive thyroid in July 09, which showed a reading of 5. I was prescribed 150mg of levothyroxine daily, but subsequent tests in Sept 09 and April 10 showed readings of 0.6 and 0.8 respectively, leading to side effects like shaking hands, heart palpitations, irregular periods, and water retention. I stopped taking the medication in May 10 and felt better, losing weight. A July 10 blood test showed a reading of 6.5, and the doctor wants me to resume levothyroxine as I've been trying to conceive since June 09. What are the range levels for blood tests for thyroid problems?

My husband is tapering off Decadron. He's functioning well, working, but has the demeanor of a drunk, sometimes very chatty and onerous talking, something he's never done. Is this part of the tapering down for the steroids?
