My girlfriend has been experiencing prolonged and heavy periods for several years, with bleeding lasting for weeks at a time. She has been to several doctors but they haven't found a cause or been overly concerned. She is not using any contraceptives or medications, except for a multivitamin. Her last period started on November 7th and did not stop until December 12th. She has fatigue but no shortness of breath or severe cramps. Her testosterone levels are slightly elevated, and her estrogen and progesterone levels are normal. What could be causing this prolonged bleeding, and what steps should be taken to address it?

I've been having a weird period. It started on January 20th and has been very light but long. I have a copper IUD, no medications, and I'm 30 years old. My cycles are irregular, and the blood is dark with clots. I workout regularly and started a slight calorie cut in January. I'm sexually active with my husband about 1-2 times a week. I have no continuous pain, just occasional bloating, and no nausea, vomiting, or fever. No pain during intercourse. What could be causing this and what should I do?
