Can bacterial vaginosis be cured, or is it a lifelong condition that requires ongoing management with antibiotics? I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis in December 2021 and it keeps recurring. My nurse practitioner mentioned that it can't be cured and I would need to manage it for the rest of my life. Is this true, and what treatments are available to manage it?

I have been experiencing intense itching and burning around my vaginal area, especially during urination, which is so painful that I cry. I have tried using Desitin and Phytoplex Protect Z Guard Paste, but the burning persists. The itchiness comes and goes, and it's worst when I urinate. I have known allergies to penicillin and a medical history of diabetes, high blood pressure, and a stroke. What could be causing this and how can it be treated?

I had a full hysterectomy 8 years ago, including the removal of my ovaries, and now I avoid intercourse due to severe pain that feels like tearing with light blood appearing. Why is this happening, and was mesh used during the operation?

I got my period a week early and then again on the day I should have originally started. I am 46 years old, always regular, and not using contraceptives. My mother has vaginal cancer, and I had two ovarian cysts removed in my early 30s. I exercise regularly and have been more active lately. I also experienced abdominal pain and cramping during intercourse. Could this be the onset of menopause, and how can I balance my hormones?

I have been experiencing severe vaginal and anal itching for two weeks. I am 62 and not sexually active. The itchiness is fairly constant and relieved by anti-itch cream. My skin is dry, especially in the perineum area. I am using Vagicil anti-itch cream, high blood pressure meds, and antidepressants. What could be causing the itching and what can I do about it?
