I had a Gardnerella vaginal infection treated with metronidazole, and later was diagnosed with Enterococcus faecalis vaginal infection, treated with oral vancomycin. I'm experiencing symptoms again and am concerned about the side effects of IV drugs like gentamicin and streptomycin, which include severe inner ear damage, hearing loss, kidney and liver damage, and other serious side effects. I'm allergic to penicillin, erythromycin, tetracycline, and macrodantin. What are the alternatives to these treatments? How long are IV treatments usually necessary? Are they typically effective? How common is it for the infection to become systemic, and is it always fatal? I'm very scared and need reassurance.

I have a Mirena hormonal IUD that was inserted in February 2019. I recently had a full-body x-ray and noticed that my IUD appeared off-center in the image. I have also experienced some stomach pain over the last week, which usually subsides within an hour after meals. I am not currently sexually active and not on any medications other than a few herbal supplements. Should I be concerned about the IUD's position, and is the stomach pain related to it?
