I've been experiencing unusual discharge since last night. It's very clear and thin, but I noticed a few stretchy, thick, jelly-like clumps that appear clearish or light yellow. I am 67 years old and had premature menopause at 38, which led to atrophic vaginitis in my 50s. I had a cone biopsy that showed no cancer or HPV, only atrophic cells, which were treated with HRT. At 64, I got herpes from a younger boyfriend, and now I have HPV 16. I had a negative HPV test last year and an ASC-US pap, which was repeated and came back normal this spring. I had sex with the boyfriend three times after we broke up, and he may have had sex with another person during that time. I don't smoke and never have. I am confused about the sudden appearance of HPV 16 and want to know more about the risks and management for women over 65 who are sexually active.
