I have been experiencing increasing right-sided pelvic/hip pain post hysterectomy following surgery in September. My chiropractor thought it may be related to SI joint dysfunction and/or intraligamentous ligament from the surgical positioning. My GYN sent me for an ultrasound which revealed a small cyst on my right ovary. The technician said it looked functional, but the pain during the transvaginal ultrasound was excruciating on the right side, reproducing much of the upper buttock/hip pain. What benign conditions can cause this type of ovary pain that refers in this way? Could it be the cyst even though small? Are there possible post-op complications (e.g., hematoma, abscess) that can mimic a cyst on ultrasound?
