I have PCOS/insulin resistance and my prescription for metformin is up. My OB/GYN has not returned my calls in over two weeks. Since stopping the medication, I have gained weight back despite working out and eating healthy. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, but it's not related to my current condition. I am not trying to get pregnant within the next few years, and my periods are irregular but consistent. I was a healthy 135 pounds before this diagnosis and have struggled with weight gain for 3+ years, now weighing 174 pounds. I am concerned about the recent controversy surrounding metformin. Should I be worried about its safety, and is there an alternative medication I could consider?

Almost every time I have sex with my partner, I develop a foul vaginal odor that doesn’t go away and I can smell it just sitting there. I’ve seen my OB for this and she doesn’t think it’s BV, I’ve been tested for STIs and all negative. I can do a dose of metrogel and it goes away. This usually happens around my period. I don’t know how to make it stop.
