I recently got prescribed Metrogel for a detected case of Gardnerella vaginalis, which causes bacterial vaginosis (BV). I have several questions: Can I use Metrogel during my period, and should I start treatment if my OB/GYN said I don't have to? Will the treatment clear it up faster, or can it go away on its own? Could using the gel cause a yeast infection, or could BV itself lead to one? Is there a way to prevent BV, and how long does it normally take to clear up? Should I refrain from being intimate, and can BV be transferred to my partner? How well does Metrogel work, and can BV come back at any time? Are there specific reasons females get BV, and is there a precautionary measure to avoid a yeast infection from the gel? Can BV turn into other infections, and if left untreated, would it just continue to cause symptoms like burning, itching, and abnormal discharge? Is it possible to have BV without symptoms, and how long can BV usually last?

Yes, you can use Metrogel during your period, but use pads instead of tampons. If you have symptoms ...

I am two days after an IUI procedure and my belly is quite swollen and I feel cramps in the bottom abdominal side. Is this normal? Why is this happening? Additionally, I have a bad smell down there and this happens every month after ovulation. Could this affect potential embryo implantation or pregnancy?

I am currently 130 days late for my period and have taken pregnancy tests that all come back negative. I am not using any contraceptives or medications. My last period began on January 2nd-6th, 2021. I had COVID in February but don't think it affected my period. I have had regular periods before and am 22 years old. I feel normal but occasionally experience phantom cramps and a spinning sensation in my stomach. I put on a few pounds after a divorce a year ago. I was on two types of birth control about 2 years ago but stopped taking them a year ago because they made me feel terrible. What could be causing my missed period and what should I do?

I had an IUD (Liletta) placed after an abortion in 2021. Recently, I've been experiencing abnormal cramps and heavy bleeding, and I can't locate the strings of the IUD. Should I take a home pregnancy test, and should I schedule an in-person appointment with a gynecologist to check the IUD's placement?

I am not pregnant, but I observed milky substance coming out from both nipples. I am 33 years old, take antidepressants for the past 3 weeks, and had my last period 8 days ago. I have no other symptoms like pain, swelling, dizziness, or fever. What could be causing this milky discharge, and what should I do?

I've been on birth control for 6-7 months, never missed a pill, and always take it at the same time. I occasionally spot, especially after starting a new workout routine and taking amoxicillin for an infection. I'm sexually active and took a negative pregnancy test. Is this spotting normal, and what could be causing it?
