Trevor M. asked
I tested positive for pregnancy and started bleeding the next day. I went to the doctor and tested negative. What could have caused this and what should I know about the bleeding and future pregnancies?

It's very possible that you experienced a very early miscarriage, also known as a chemical pregnancy...

I am experiencing severe pain during sex, which started a week ago. The pain is localized in the vagina/vulva area and is described as sharp, achey, and burning. I was previously treating a UTI with Azo and have been taking ibuprofen for menstrual cramps. I am 22 years old, my cycles are regular, and I am not on any birth control. My period started on the second of this month and is currently on day 5. I have not seen a doctor yet, but I am concerned about the pain and swelling during sex.

I am 6 months postpartum and my period came back at 6 weeks postpartum. This month I had my period 3 times, and the current bleeding is particularly heavy. I have been to my GP twice, but he's refusing any testing and telling me to just wait and see. I also discovered a small round hard lump in my right vaginal wall, which my GP examined and said to wait and see if it gets bigger but is not a concern. The lump has been the same, with no pain at touch, only discomfort, and I often have pain during intercourse. I am not taking any medications. What could be causing these issues, and what should I do?

I haven't had my period in 5 months, I'm not pregnant, and I'm experiencing new brownish black discharge with a bad smell. I'm 19, using spermicide, and have a history of irregular periods. My last period was in January, and I've been gaining weight and experiencing loss of appetite. Should I be concerned?

I am currently 4 days late on my period, with a consistent 27-day cycle. I have the Paraguard IUD since 2018 and tested negative for pregnancy yesterday. Could this be too early to test? Additionally, I had unprotected intercourse a day before my predicted ovulation date and consistently had unprotected sex the day before my period was supposed to start. My periods have been consistent since I started using a period tracker app in 2021, but the Paraguard IUD initially caused heavy, inconsistent periods for about a year.

I'm having mild cramping the day after ovulating, which isn't typical for me. We've recently started trying to conceive. Could this be implantation cramping, and how early can I test for pregnancy?
