I had an elective hysterectomy in July 2021 in WA State for a fibroid. The surgeon removed my cervix and one ovary without my informed consent, despite my requests to keep them unless there was definitive cancer. I experienced hormonal changes, loss of sex drive, and other issues post-surgery. The surgeon did not document our discussions about cysts on my ovary or my wishes regarding organ removal. Is this a viable case for legal action, and what steps should I take?
