My husband claims he did not contract HSV from someone else during our marriage and that it was contracted over 30 years ago. How could we have had unprotected sex together for all those years and I only recently contracted HSV from him? Isn't that unlikely?

I use birth control pills and have been for many years, but this has never happened before. I started taking them for acne. Recently, my medical tests showed low iron and vitamin D levels.
