I want to start using birth control pills but I don’t know which one I should choose. I’ve never used birth control pills before, and my last period began today. My periods are regular, a little long (up to 8 days) and painful, but I haven’t had any changes in weight, diet, exercise, or stress levels. I recently had sexual intercourse, and I’ve never had a Pap smear. I don’t have any acne or headache issues, and I’m not allergic to any medication or have any other medical conditions.

I have been experiencing recurring yeast infections for the past three months, despite taking multiple doses of vaginal ovules and fluconazole tablets. The symptoms initially included itching, solid discharge, and occasional spotting, but now mainly consist of spotting and discharge, especially when exerting pressure. My swab test results were normal for yeast and BV, but I am concerned that the fluconazole may have affected the test results. What could be causing these symptoms, and what tests or treatments should I consider?
