asked

I was first married in 1976 and experienced painful intercourse due to my first husband being too big. I spoke to my doctor who suggested cauterizing the vagina, which I agreed to. For 30 years, intercourse was painful and I did not get any pleasure. My husband died in 2007 and I have since remarried. While sex is no longer painful, it is still not pleasurable. Could the cauterizing have damaged or lessened the clitoris? What can I do to improve my sexual experience?
